Preamble

We are a family of three; Andrew, Jodie and Jessica (aged 18) from Tasmania, Australia who are currently serving in Douala, Cameroon, Central Africa on the M/V Africa Mercy, the largest non-governmental hospital ship in the world, through Mercy Ships International. God has called us on a journey that has been many years in the making. For this season we call Africa home, as we seek to bring hope and healing to the poorest of the poor.

Cape Town-Jewel of Africa!

Wow! All the crew were so excited to berth in Cape
Town for 24 hours. Our last stop in a developed
nations for 10 months. Frantic shopping, eating out
and sight seeing was had by all. We were so lucky
to be able to berth at The V&A Waterfront right
under Table Mountain. We were finally able to get
a coveted TV licence and buy a TV too.

It's a long way home!

Jess and I get close to Nelson Mandella.

Someone had a little too much spare time on their
hands when they built this man out of empty coke crates.
 Ugly, but cool.

One of so many highlights was the US Navy Brass
Band. They were AMAZING! When they broke into
the popular song "Billionare", the crowd went wild.
They could even sing and rap.

The stunning "Wheel of Excellence". It is the
same one as at South Bank in Brisbane.
Jess and I went on it on Valentines Day
and got a free rose each and a champagne
glass of orange juice.
